Wyck: Home Farm Foodways Project - Salt Rising Bread

Wyck's Home Farm Foodways Workshop series, which includes weekly farm workdays and monthly skill-building workshops, returns this April with a workshop on the Appalachian tradition of making salt rising bread! In this session, baker and historian Jenny Bardwell will explore the historical and cultural significance of salt rising bread through a demonstration and taste test! Bardwell is the co-author of Salt Rising Bread: Recipes and Heartfelt Stories of a Nearly Lost Appalachian Tradition and the founder of Rising Creek Bakery in Mt. Morris, PA, which specializes in salt rising bread. Be sure to register for a chance to learn about and taste this fascinating regional food!
